One of the most rewarding things a designer can do is give back to her community by volunteering her skill and free time to impact social change via pro bono marketing design.
Over the years as a volunteer, I’ve created websites and promotional graphics for a variety of nonprofits, including Exhale, Streetside Stories, AXIS Dance Company, The Taproot Foundation, the League of Women Voters of Oakland and Holy Names University’s Center for Social Justice & Civic Engagement. My designs have helped these organizations achieve their missions by increasing their visibility and user engagement online and providing more sophisticated marketing materials to appeal to the communities they serve.
Though during the work week I manage a digital marketing studio, I do have limited time each week to assist in a volunteer capacity with the marketing communications design needs for nonprofits. My current focus is to serve East Bay civil rights and social justice nonprofits, in particular for those helping women and immigrant families, and also to help the political campaigns of emerging progressive women political candidates.
If your campaign or organization is in need of pro bono marketing design for web banners, social media graphics, postcards, posters or other graphic design, let’s connect on LinkedIn and see if working together is a good fit.
